Pre-School, Pre-K, and Kindergarten Program
The Pre-School/Kindergarten Program provides a warm and nurturing classroom environment where teachers capitalize on children's curiosity, creativity, and imagination. Our program facilitates children's social, emotional, physical and intellectual development with an emphasis placed on building confidence and self-esteem. Children play and work together to build the development and pre-academic skills that will help them fulfill their potential as they move on to the elementary program. Both thematic units as well as an interactive alphabet curriculum help foster the children's thinking skills while they learn about the importance of being part of a classroom community. Music, Art, Physical Education, and Library time are incorporated into the students' weekly schedules and help build gross and fine motor skills as well as an ability to listen, share, and interact with one another. Teachers respect and celebrate children's unique learning styles and provide a teaching approach that best fits each child's individual needs. The end result is that our students come away with a rich classroom experience, new friends, and an understanding that learning is an exciting process.
Elementary 1st and 2nd Grade School Program
The Elementary Program carefully preserves the joys of childhood while challenging children in age-appropriate ways. Teachers find the spark that will ignite each child's curiosity and sense of achievement. In grades 1 and 2, active learning continues to connect personal experience to the larger world. Children ask how things work; teachers ask, 'how did you solve that problem?' Faculty and staff recognize that children develop at different rates and posses personal learning styles. Students move along the continuum of learning with new concepts introduced at an appropriate pace. An integrated curriculum includes math, science, writing, language arts, music, physical education, library and computer classes. The foundation prepares them for the critical and independent thinking they will need to be successful as older students.
